Concert by Candlelight
The Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society Alliance presents Concert by Candlelight from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at the Sutter Club, 1220 Ninth Street, Sacramento.
The elegant evening among friends, lovers of the arts and lovers in general will feature a mainly classical concert, after a reception where creations of art by a wealth of talented artists from our medical community will be shown.
Artists will show oils, sculptures, watercolors, photography and other forms of art during a cocktail reception at which hors doeuvres will be served. Some art work will be available for purchase and some up for bid during the silent auction.
Artists include physicians Barbara Arnold, Roger Lieberman, Terry Pappas, Setty Porco and Harvey Wolkov to name a few. Among physicians spouses are Jo Ann Barbis, Paula Cameto, Alice Harris, Sharon Kranhold, Judi Stickney, Nan Roe and Jessie Ross. The Alliance welcomes further submissions from the art community.
Performing during the concert will be The Placer Brass Quintet, whose members are part of the California Wind Orchestra; one of them is radiation oncologist Dr. Christopher Jones, on the French horn. Soprano Marcia Cope-Hart will perform arias and Broadway ballads.
Donations for the black-tie optional event, sponsored by Mansours Oriental Rug Gallery, are $60. per person, and can be purchased from Margie Koldinger at (916) 455-8506 or Margery Marshall at (916) 485-3391 before February 3rd.
