Annual Meeting
|
| There was another big turnout of more than 300 persons for the Annual Awards and Installation Dinner of the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society and Alliance on January 18 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Ballroom.
The Medical Society's highest honor, the Golden Stethoscope Award for devotion to patient care and the medical needs of the community, was received by Dr. Kenneth M. Wiesner, who has had a rheumatology practice in Sacramento for a quarter century. His son, Jason, is the fifth generation of physicians in the family.
The Medical Honor Award was presented to Dr. Patricia Samuelson for her work as chairperson of Shots for Tots, a regional coalition that promotes immunizations for infants and toddlers, and for her work as an advocate for patients on health care issues.
The Medical Community Service Award went to the Community Services Planning Council for its long-standing commitment to health-related issues in the community.
The Alliance named Margery Marshall their CMA-Alliance Member of the Year Nominee, and awarded the Helping Hands Award to Barbara Andras.
