The Board:
Approved establishing online banking for the Society as a means of streamlining the work of the accounting department.

Approved, as a member benefit, a one-year trial endorsement arrangement with Corporate Express, the world's largest business-to-business supplier of office and computer products.

Approved a new policy, "Disaster Response and Relief," establishing procedures for the Society to follow in response to local, state, national or international natural or man-made disasters.

The Board:
Approved the purchase of a defibrillator to be located in the Society building. It was determined that the number of people visiting the Society's museum, using the conference facilities and attending Society meetings in the building have increased significantly and that having a defibrillator on the premises would be prudent.

Approved supporting SB 547, which proposes to establish a pilot program in Sacramento County authorizing peace officers to impound a person's vehicle for a DUI offense.

Approved a Society resolution in support of implementation of SB 1159, which permits the sale of hypodermic needles and syringes by participating pharmacies in El Dorado, Sacramento and Yolo Counties. The resolution will be signed by medical groups and/or individual members who support this important public health effort and presented to the Boards of Supervisors in the Society's three county region.
