The Board:
Elected Charles McDonnell, MD, as 2006 Secretary and Margaret Parsons, MD, as 2006 Treasurer.
Approved sending a letter to the California Medical Association requesting assistance in addressing issues on the accountability of health plans in reimbursement of Medi-Cal fees to physicians participating in the GMC Program.
Received an update from Kristine Wallach, Program Manager for the Community Service, Education and Research Fund (CSERF), a 501(c)(3), regarding the organization's activities. CSERF is a vehicle to involve physicians and the larger healthcare community in service, education and research. Its primary programs include the Sierra Sacramento Valley Museum of Medical History, the William E. Dochterman Medical Student Scholarship Fund and two community collaborative programs: The Sacramento Physicians' Initiative to Reach Out Innovate and Teach (SPIRIT) and Adopt-A-School.
Authorized staff to proceed with processing the corporate resolutions and other necessary paperwork required for ongoing transactions with Smith Barney.
Approved adding a paragraph to Policy 100-03, Purchasing and Payment Procedure concerning electronic transfer authorizations.

Reviewed plans for the March 24-26, 2006 Board Retreat; it will be devoted to empowering the Board to Excel in Membership Development.
Was notified by CMA that, because of an increase in membership, SSVMS is entitled to two additional delegates, bringing our representation in CMA's House of Delegates to 17.
Approved the nomination of Robert Wendel, MD to fill the vacancy in Alternate-Delegate Office #14, and Anthony Russell, MD, to fill the vacancy in Alternate-Delegate Office #16.
Approved transferring Alternate-Delegates Michael Burman, MD, Office #2, and Janet O'Brien, Office #7, to the new Delegate offices #16 and #17.
Also approved moving Michael Ullery, MD, from Alternate-Delegate Office #13, to the vacancy in Alternate-Delegate Office #2.
