The Board:
Approved a $2,500 contribution to the SSVMS Alliance to support the activities related to the installation and term of office of Lisa Smith as President of the California Medical Association Alliance on May 6, 2006.

Authorized staff to proceed with earning accreditation from the California Medical Association to provide Continuing Medical Education (CME). Additionally, approved recommendations that: 1) The expense related to CME accreditation and related program expenses come from unrestricted reserves (non-SPIRIT, non-Adopt-A-School and non-partners) in the Community, Service, Education and Research Fund (CSERF); 2) Policies and procedures regarding this new activity be developed for Board approval on a going forward basis; 3) Staff work with the President and Executive Committee to appoint an interim CME Committee.

Approved the nomination of Society Member, Dineen J. Greer, MD, to the Sacramento County Maternal Child, Adolescent Health Advisory Board.

Approved endorsing the program "Essentials of Pain Medicine: What you Need to Know on the Front Line of Medicine," offered by the American Academy of Pain Medicine on June 24-25, 2006 in Newport Beach, California.
