Awards Nominations
|
By Byron Demorest, MD,
Chair
Scholarship and Awards Committee
IN NOVEMBER, the Scholarship and Awards Committee will nominate a recipient for the Medical Society's annual Golden Stethoscope Award, to be judged primarily for devotion to patient care and the medical needs of the community. Unselfish, compassionate and empathetic patient care along with contributions to medicine and the community at large are to be considered. The nominee shall have been in practice for at least 15 years, but may also be retired.
We shall also give a Medical Honor Award and a Medical Community Service Award.
The Medical Honor Award will be given to a physician currently in practice who has made a very significant contribution to Sacramento medicine or the community. This recipient shall have held membership for at least 5 years.
The Medical Community Service Award will be presented to a non-physician person or organization that has made a valued contribution for medical or public health problems in our region.
Please send your suggestions and nominations to the Scholarship & Awards Committee, SSVMS, 5380 Elvas Ave. #100, Sacramento, CA 95819. The committee will carefully consider all nominations.
