The SEDMS board at its meeting of December 12, 1999:
- Approved sending a letter to the California Medical Association welcoming the organization to Sacramento.
- Received a report that Earl Construction Company had donated $1800 to the Society's SPIRIT Project.
- Approved a letter to the Yolo County Medical Society Board of Directors concerning its affiliation proposal.
- Approved sending a letter to the Board of Supervisors in Sacramento and El Dorado Counties urging them to use the tobacco settlement funds for health purposes.
Approved the following nominations for 1999 Medical Society Awards:
Golden Stethoscope Award - Donald M. Hopkins, MD
Medical Honor Award - Frederick E. Pratt, MD
Medical Community Service Award - Sierra Health Foundation
- Approved the Committee Appointments for 2000.
Approved the following new members and changes in membership status:
For Active Membership - Drs. Abdul M. Khaleq, Colin P. Spears, Barbara A. Spinelli
For 35-Year Active Membership - Dr. Thomas R. Marshall
For Special Leave of Absence - Dr. Robert C. Davidson
For Retired Membership - Drs. Michael W. Chapman, Theodore C. Zeman
For Resignation - Drs. Thomas L. Toth (transferred to Sonoma, CA), Michelle Young (transferred to Santa Clara, CA).
