The Board elected Forrest L. Junod, MD to serve a second term as Secretary and Bryant Sheehy, MD to serve as Treasurer.

Voted to not support the Draft of CMA resolution "Discrimination in Liver Transplantation."

Approved a request to send a letter to the Department of Health Services expressing the Society's concern regarding the department's inaccurate statements regarding the Molina Health Center announcement.

Approved sending a letter to the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services expressing the Society's concern about the proposed regulations regarding the protection and release of patient medical information and the severe impact they will have on physicians.

Approved use of the SEDMS mailing list to offer members a free one-year subscription to Web MD.

Received a report that the Yolo County Medical Society Board of Directors has voted to begin merger proceedings with SEDMS. Following review by legal counsel, the YCMS membership will be voting on the merger.

Approved endorsement of a CME Conference on Medicinal Cannabis for physicians scheduled to be held June 10 at the UCSF Laurel Heights Conference Facility. The conference is structured to provide up-to-date and accurate information about the potential benefits and risks of medicinal cannabis, as well as a preview of research projects that are underway. The conference is funded by the The Lindesmith Center and sponsored by the University of California, San Francisco with subsequent endorsements from the California Medical Association, California Society of Internal Medicine, California Academy of Family Physicians, San Francisco Medical Society, Marin Medical Society, San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Approved recommendations from Smith Barney financial consultant concerning investments for the Building Fund and the Guttman Library.

Approved purchase of a table for 10 persons at the CMA Foundation Annual Dinner.
