This cover is the second in a series featuring collections of medical artifacts at the Society's headquarters. The circa 1880 microscope, made by "R & J Beck of London & Philadelphia," is one of several microscopes in the SSVMS collection along with numerous early slide collections, books and publications regarding medical and scientific uses of such instruments.
