This photo, taken in the French Alps in June 2002, is the third in a series of covers by Victoria Ruderman. She uses SX-70 Polaroid film, and manipulates the film emulsion for the final effect. She was drawn to the old, weathered door and the cracked, wrinkled façade. "The strong scent of the mature rambling roses took my breath away, she said. " For just a moment, I could imagine all of the individuals through many generations who had passed over that threshold." |
