Sacramento County History Day
For several years the Medical Museum of SSVMS has given awards to students participating in Sacramento County History Day and whose projects relate to Medical History.
In 2007 several awards were given. Our major award was given to an exhibit entitled "Flu Kills 20 Million." This exhibit, by Ashleen Kishore, Khanh Nguyen and Nazeela Sabir of Valley High School, won County and State competition. It then went on to win second place in National Competition. This project will be on display at our Medical Museum through September.
Another award winner was Tierney Trujillo from St. Francis High School who entered a paper entitled "The Triumphant Era of Organ Transplantation: 1954-1979" click here to read Miss Trujillo's paper.
And yet another Medical Museum award went to Connor Woodruff of Sutterville Elementary School who created a powerpoint presentation entitled "The 1918 Spanish Influenza" click here to view Connors presentation.
