This photo of gondolas in Venice, Italy, is the second in a series of covers by Victoria Ruderman. She uses SX-70 Polaroid film, whose film emulsion is manipulated for the final product. The photo was taken at the full light of sunrise, when the colors of the gondolas were vibrant. "Many of the hues of Venice are now muted by the passage of time and history," she said. "But once they must have been brilliant — as these vessels now remind us." |
