Watch Garibaldi's live performance here!
Greetings!
SSVMS hosted our first virtual Honors Medicine event in celebration of our local public health officers to thank them for their tireless efforts to keep our community safe. Also, thank you to our generous event sponsors and attendees. You can find photos of the event on SSVMS's Facebook and Instagram pages! I loved catching up with my colleagues, making our custom Immunitini Cocktails, and watching world-renowned artist, David Garibaldi, masterfully create a piece dedicated to our frontline workers called, “Healthcare Hero.” The beautiful canvas painted at the event is up for auction until Saturday, March 6th. Make a tax-deductible bid and support SSVMS community programs!

Enjoy nature and share your selfies

The world has relied heavily on physicians and medical professionals to care for our community throughout the pandemic. Since March is the month of spring and renewal, SSVMS encourages our members to take a step outside and care for themselves. As the weather warms up, enjoy California's nature and send us a selfie to help promote physician wellness.

Email mturner@ssvms.org to share your photos with SSVMS.

Joy of Medicine Wellness Checkup

Just as you put on your PPE before administering medical care, you should care for yourself before you care for others. SSVMS encourages you to schedule a resiliency consultation with one of our Joy of Medicine psychologists or life coaches. Every physician in the Sacramento region is eligible for up to six sponsored sessions with a provider of your choice.

Sierra Sacramento Valley Medicine

We would like to understand how residents of the greater Sacramento community think about COVID-19. Based on your discussions with your patients, please answer the following questions.

  1. What is a common rationale for not wearing masks as recommended by the CDC?
  2. What is a common rationale for declining a COVID-19 vaccine?

Please limit your explanations to no more than 200 words. Your responses may be published in SSV Medicine.

Send your comments to lcoate@ssvms.org.

Thank you,
