SSV Medical Society News - 2025 - Volume 14 - Issue 06 Upcoming Events, Latest News, and More MEDICAL SOCIETY NEWS STAY CURRENT WITH IMPORTANT MEMBER-ONLY NEWS AND INFORMATION THANK YOU FOR YOUR SSVMS/CMA MEMBERSHIP PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Local Burnout Drops: What Does It Mean? The results of our 2025 Physician Well-Being Survey are in (click here to see them)– and while there’s good news, there’s still work ahead. Burnout among Sacramento-area physicians has dropped to 34%, down from a high of 45% in 2022 and well below the national average of 44%. That’s a sign that many of the wellness efforts across our region are making a difference. But the survey also showed concerning trends. Far fewer physicians accessed mental health counseling this year, and only 58% plan to maintain their current clinical hours over the next five years. Among physicians experiencing burnout, nearly a third are under age 55 and planning to cut back. SSVMS will continue to advocate for a better practice environment – one that supports your well-being, values your time, and helps you find joy in medicine. Thank you to everyone working to make that possible. Together, we can protect the health of our profession – and of our community. Thank you!
