PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Show Up, Speak Up

As I prepare my final message as SSVMS President, I find myself reflecting with real pride on everything we’ve achieved together this year. Our community has shown resilience, leadership, and a shared commitment to protecting the health of the people we serve. Because of that work, SSVMS is well-positioned for the future.

And now, I have one final request.

Use. Your. Voice.

The public narrative around health is drifting off course, and misinformation is spreading faster than ever. In this moment, physicians are needed not just in exam rooms, but in public conversations. That’s why SSVMS is asking each of us to speak up during public comment at County Board of Supervisors meetings.

The ask is simple: show up and speak up. Whether it’s underscoring the importance of vaccinations, reminding people of the basics like handwashing, or encouraging masking when sick, your voice can cut through the noise. When physicians speak, people listen, and our community needs to hear from us now more than ever.

Sign up here. We’ll keep you informed about upcoming opportunities to participate in public comment.

Thank you for your partnership, your advocacy, and your dedication to our profession and our patients.
