SSV Medical Society News - 2025 - Volume 14 - Issue 09 Upcoming Events, Latest News, and More MEDICAL SOCIETY NEWS STAY CURRENT WITH IMPORTANT MEMBER-ONLY NEWS AND INFORMATION THANK YOU FOR YOUR SSVMS/CMA MEMBERSHIP PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Advocacy at Home In addition to the advocacy work we do in partnership with the California Medical Association on state and federal issues, SSVMS also deeply engages at the local level to protect and strengthen healthcare in our community. Recently, members of our leadership team met with county supervisors to discuss pressing concerns facing both physicians and patients. These conversations centered on ensuring that access to care remains protected, even as we navigate challenges like workforce shortages, reimbursement pressures, and the evolving needs of our community. Meeting directly with local policymakers is a vital part of our advocacy strategy. Decisions made at the county level - on public health priorities, behavioral health resources, and safety net support - have an immediate impact on our ability to care for patients. By engaging with leaders here at home, we ensure that physicians’ voices are represented in every forum where healthcare decisions are made. Thank you for your commitment, and for standing with us as we continue this work together.
