ICD-10 Is Here:  CMA Publishes New FAQ to Help Members Survive the Changeover.  In an effort to help practices navigate the transition, the California Medical Association (CMA) has published a new FAQ titled, “Surviving ICD-10: An FAQ for physician practices.”  This members-only resource is available free to CMA members at www.cmanet.org/icd10.

Interested in Shaping Health Policy?  SSVMS has vacancies on its Delegation to the California Medical Association (CMA) House of Delegates.  The CMA House of Delegates convenes annually to debate and act on resolutions and reports dealing with a myriad of issues concerning medical practice, public health and CMA governance. PHYSICIAN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Physician Volunteers Sought to Provide Services to the Undocumented.  The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors recently voted to restore health care services for part of its indigent population, including the undocumented.  SSVMS’ Sacramento Physicians Initiative to Reach out, Innovate and Teach (SPIRIT) Program will provide volunteer specialty and surgical services.  Volunteer opportunities could be available in your private office, in community clinics and in local hospitals and surgery centers.  To volunteer, please download and complete a volunteer survey or contact Kris Wallach at kwallach@ssvms.org or (916)452-2671.
