SSV Medical Society News - 2019 - Volume 8 - Issue 12

Volume 8, Issue 12
December, 2019
The Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society is dedicated to bringing together physicians from all modes of practice to promote the art and science of quality medical care and to enhance the physical and mental health of our entire community.
Dear Colleagues,

2019 was a challenging, but successful year for organized medicine. The California Medical Association (CMA) recently convened its 148th annual House of Delegates (HOD) meeting. The conference hosted over 500 physicians who set policy on major health care issues effecting our state. More information about the issues tackled at this year's conference can be found in the HOD wrap up reportThere is still more work to be done, and we continue to stand with you as we meet new challenges ahead.
As we close another great year, let us take the opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all that you do for our community. It is a time to celebrate with colleagues an friends, and toast the new year to come. Please join us at the annual Celebrate the Season Holiday Social on Wednesday, December 11 at 6:00pm. This year's social will be held at the El Macero Country Club in Davis, CA.
From everyone at the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society, we wish you and your family the happiest of holidays and a wonderful new year.

Volunteer Radiologist Needed!
Sacramento County has asked SPIRIT for assistance locating a volunteer radiologist. There is an urgent need for a volunteer to read films at the Sacramento County Health Center located on Broadway. The radiologist would come one day a week and read 15-20 films starting December 5th or 6th. The County is looking at implementing remote view reading in the future.
If you would like to volunteer or have questions, please contact Dr. Susmita Mishra, Medical Director, at or 916-874-9919.
