But some of the most important decisions affecting our patients are made far beyond those walls in legislative chambers. On April 8, 2026, the California Medical Association will host its 52nd Annual Legislative Advocacy Day right here in Sacramento. This event brings together more than 400 physicians and medical students from across the state to meet directly with legislators and speak up on priority health care issues. If you’ve ever wondered how to translate your frontline experience into meaningful policy change, this is your opportunity. Attendees receive training on current legislation affecting the practice of medicine and hands-on guidance to effectively advocate for your patients and profession. You don’t need to be a policy expert; you simply need to bring your voice and your lived experience. Advocacy is not reserved for a select few. It belongs to all of us. I encourage you to join your colleagues at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel and add your perspective to the conversation. Our patients and our profession are stronger when we stand together. Thank you! Rick Vitangcol, MD SSVMS President I'm Going to Legislative Advocacy Day!
