SSV Medical Society News - 2017 - Volume 6 - Issue 4 - April May 11, 2017 2017 - Volume 6 2017 - Volume 6, Issue 4, SSV Medical Society News 0 Physicians: As most of you are aware, Speaker Ryan and President Trump withdrew the American Health Care Act (AHCA) from a floor vote when they did not have the votes to pass it. SSVMS and CMA expressed serious concerns about the floor version of the AHCA and urged the Republican leadership to rework the bill so that millions of Californians did not lose insurance coverage, that Medi-Cal payment rates be increased to improve access to care, and that there were adequate tax credits to make insurance affordable for low-moderate income families. Thank you to those of you who made calls and met with their Members of Congress. It made a real difference. CMA will continue to work with the Trump Administration and Congress on a bipartisan basis to protect the parts of the ACA that are working and fix the parts that are not working. CMA's top priority is to increase the physician Medi-Cal reimbursement rates for services provided to both the ACA Medicaid expansion adults and our traditional Medi-Cal patients. Thank you for engaging on this important health care issue and as always, let me know what your medical society can do for you, email@example.com.
